Granny Square Baby Blanket

I'm back to crocheting after a brief stint with knitting. Crocheting is easier to do watching TV, which is the only time right now I have to do it. This is my first try at granny squares, and I love them. Talk about mindless activity! Although granny squares are made of bright colors, I thought I would try them with pastels for a baby blanket for my niece Aubrey's new baby girl. I like how it turned out. I made it square, well, 'cuz they are granny SQUARES. I guess I should have had my sister make the blanket since she is the GRANNY! :)

I love knitting for the same reason - it's totally mindless and you can still carry on a conversation while being productive! I discovered this year that it is the perfect conference activity (and also keeps you awake).

I'm crazy for granny squares. I have made another baby blanket which I will post here and have started a felted bag out of grannies. They are so simple and small and mindless, which fits my lifestyle right now.madulla1

Way stinking cute! Very impressive. I'd love to be able to do that. I bet she adores it.
